REQUIREMENTS: - Must have or be able to acquire current MLEA (MT Law Enforcement Academy) POST Basic Certification and CPR and First Responder Certification within one year. McCone County will pay for the POST training with an agreement/contract to work for the county for three years. - Must be able to pass medical/mental evaluations and a rigorous background investigation. - Candidate should live in McCone County or be able to relocate within 30 days of hire. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Ability to communicate orally and in writing - Ability to pursue offenders on foot or in a vehicle - Restrain an adult; carry or drag adult weight - Qualify with firearms - Drive a patrol vehicle - Handle distress calls - Perform limited medical procedures - Operate police equipment - Maintain accurate records - Type and operate office machines, including a computer - Prepare reports - Testify in court. JOB SUMMARY: Will work an assigned rotational schedule which includes holidays, weekends, nights, and on-call for emergencies. Will spend hours in a patrol vehicle and may travel in adverse road conditions. Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. PAY AND BENEFITS: - Pay will depend on experience. - Benefits include health insurance, retirement, sick leave, and vacation. - Position is full-time and open until filled.
